This photo performance is a deeply personal narrative, reflecting the struggles and resilience of women in the Middle East, particularly in Afghanistan. As the central subject of this series, I shatter mirrors—symbols of self-reflection and fragmentation—while continuing to engage with them. Through makeup, poses, and intimate moments with the broken shards, I explore the paradox of finding beauty and joy even amidst destruction and pain.

This performance captures the universal story of women who face restrictions, oppression, and societal expectations. It celebrates their ability to persevere, reclaim their identity, and find beauty within themselves, despite the challenges they endure. For me, this project was not only an artistic exploration but also an act of healing, a way to confront and process the pain that surrounded my younger self. It stands as a tribute to the resilience of every woman who navigates the dualities of restriction and liberation, fragility and strength.
